Unique Assignment
As one of the assignments in one of my summer classes, we were to do a presentation linking what was taught in the class to our “University Studies” goals. I decided to branch out and use my skills in designing and sewing to do my project. I made a mini quilt with pockets on the front, and on the four pockets I embroidered and painted the four elements of University Studies: Communication, Ethics and Social Responsibility, Appreciation for Diversity, and Critical Thinking. In each of the pockets I put things (notes on paper) that I learned from the class about these topics. TheĀ idea behindĀ the quilt was to tie everything together in a presentation in an oral and physical way. See you can even use your sewing skills for an untraditional “outside the box” project like this one!

I love that idea! Parents could even sew one of these up for a child and then leave “bedtime” or “good morning” notes for that child…
Noelle, Great idea! Who doesn’t like to receive “mail” or special notes, especially a child!
