DIY Style Episode 7 - Vodcast iPod-Ready
With her fresh, funky “midwest modern” aesthetic, Amy Butler has got the skills to pay the bills. Amy kicks off Season #2 of DIYStyle with a personal peek at her spring textile, pattern, and accessories designs. Host Allyce King steps up to the sewing machine to make a quick, stylish bed for pets to coordinate with any decor. Then get some notion know-how! Our list of the supplies every creative chick should have in her sewing kit.

This site is wonderful. I have moved to a small town without much access to sewing. Is this also a Cable TV program?
Question for Allyce? What are the secrets for sewing velcro? My machine skips stitches and makes a real mess.
Thanks
We are an internet show, not featured on television. So stay tuned to diy style for more episodes! Thats a great question! Skipped stitches are really common on Velcro. If you use a jersey or ballpoint needle it can help. You can also use needle lube, a liquid that you dot on your thread on the needle (available at most fabric stores). If all else fails, use the iron on Velcro, and you won’t need to stitch thru it at all!!
