Fashion Designer Skill Building :: Week 3 :: Interfacings, Boning, Shoulders Pads and Shape Builders
Saturday, September 4th - 9:30am-4:00pm
Fashion Design students and anyone looking to build their sewing technique skills, we developed this class series just for you. Taught over a 4 week period, on Saturday, take one or all 4 sessions. Each is a stand- alone workshop where you will learn the sewing techniques necessary to build a collection of garments.
Week 1: Seam finishes, Hems and hand sewing stitches (August 7)
Week 2: Zippers, Buttonholes and other closures (August 21)
Week 3: Interfacings, boning, shoulders pads and other shape builders (September 4)
Week 4: Stretch & swim fabric sewing, elastics, serger techniques, and other “must-know” stretch fabric techniques (September 11)
Complete 4 week series: $350 if all are chosen, or $100 per Saturday session. All supplies are included as well as lunch provided. A notebook with your sewn samples will be yours to keep and use as your own “sewing bible” to reference, as well as a list of additional references and websites to help get you thru those late night sewing questions and problems!

It’s finally here….the DIYStyle Workshop! We are a fashion sewing, craft and home décor workshop and studio, teaching YOU how to create & DIY. Our goal is to teach you how to sew, while making something fun, trendy and super stylish. We offer several classes and workshops, along with private lessons, open sewing time, Stitch Parties, Girls Night Out, Panty Parties, and lots more. Groups are welcome (including Girl Scout troops, church groups, bachelorette parties, etc.), we’ll put together a special project from our diystyle.net website or whatever you might dream up. We are the Creative Chicks of DIYStyle and “we just wanna have fun”, and help you love to create as much as we do! Visit us soon and join in the DIY movement.
